Although it still needs formal approval, Streets Alive will be receiving just under $597,000 from the City of Lethbridge towards construction of a new men’s recovery shelter.

The $3.5 million project on 15th Street South includes funding from the City, Province, federal government, and through community donations.

Back in 2023, the City awarded $560,000 to the mission, but the money was returned when all of the necessary funding couldn’t be secured.

The site, rezoned in July 2024 to allow for supportive housing, will provide 32 beds under the group’s Exodus program.
