City, mayor feel confident new agreement on integrated Fire/EMS model will continue
The mayor of Lethbridge is hopeful that a solution to continue the city’s current integrated Fire/EMS model will be found.
Blaine Hyggen’s comments follow a directive Monday by Alberta’s Hospital & Surgical Health Services minister, Adriana LaGrange, to Emergency Health Services to stop a planned procurement process.
“Our goal is to create a secure and viable future for Lethbridge Fire & Emergency Services, and we will continue to work towards that,” said the mayor during a news conference Tuesday morning.
“This is very, very new, and while there is a lot of work to come, we’re feeling optimistic that all the players are coming together to find a solution.”
