OTTAWA — Olympic champions Camryn Rogers, Andre De Grasse, Damian Warner and Ethan Katzberg are among the decorated athletes named to Canada’s athletics roster for the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

Commonwealth Sport Canada and Athletics Canada announced its 51-athlete roster Wednesday.

In addition to being the reigning Olympic and world champion in women’s hammer throw, Rodgers, of Richmond B.C., will be looking to defend her Commonwealth title from the 2022 Games in Birmingham, England.

Katzberg, from Nanaimo, B.C., took silver in men’s hammer throw in 2022 but has since won two world titles and Olympic gold.

Warner, from London, Ont., won decathlon gold the last time the Games were held in Glasgow in 2014. He was the Olympic champion in the high-profile event at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021.

De Grasse is tied with swimmer Penny Oleksiak as Canada’s most decorated Olympian with seven medals (two gold, two silver, three bronze). The star sprinter from Markham, Ont., will be part of Canada’s 4×100 metre relay team, which won gold at the 2024 Paris Games.

Other notable athletes on the team include Sarah Mitton of Brooklyn, N.S., the defending Commonwealth women’s shot-put champion and two-time world indoor champion, reigning world men’s 400-metre indoor champion Christopher Morales Williams of Vaughan, Ont., and world champion race walker Evan Dunfee of Richmond, who is looking to defend his Commonwealth men’s 10k title.

The Commonwealth Games run July 23 to Aug. 2.
