Latest wave of rain could mean more standing water, more mosquitos

If mosquitoes weren’t bad enough for you last week, they could be a lot of worse come next week, thanks to the rain we’re now receiving. 

Nelson Houle with the City of Lethbridge says the focus this year for crews has been on the higher-than-average amount of standing water.

“With all the recent rainfall, and how much there is, we’re seeing more pools and pools that we normally don’t have,” Houle explained.

“So, we’ve been adding on inspections to City Works and going back and doing more monitoring.”
