Bulls extend unbeaten streak to six; play doubleheader Canada Day vs. Fort Mac

Jul 1, 2026 | 10:10 AM

Make it six wins-in-a-row for the Lethbidge Bulls after another narrow one-run decision, 6-5, over West Division-leading Okotoks Tuesday night at Spitz Stadium.

Caleb Eager (2/3) and Lee Matsuzaki (2/4) led the way for the Bulls at the plate.

Noah Simpson earned the win throwing 43 strikes on 67 pitches over five complete innings of work.

“It’s always a grind against them, but we came up with a big inning there in the fifth, put up a five spot, and we didn’t look back,” said head coach Ryan McDonald, following the game.

The team, however, doesn’t have a lot of time to relish the win, with a doubleheader set for Canada Day against the Fort McMurray Giants.

“We got everyone kind of rested, and the guys that we want to throw…our best two arms. Just come out and do what we’ve done all year and hopefully we can put on a good show for the crowd.”

Shaye McTavish will get the start on the mound for Lethbridge in the matinee game at 1:40, while Brett Getz is scheduled for the night cap set to go at 7:40.

Fans, by the way, are encouraged to stay after tonight’s game for the Canada Day fireworks display.

Based on a winning percentage of .762, the Bulls have leapfrogged over Okotoks into first place in the West Division with a record of 16-5.
