City of Lethbridge warns residents to stay away from Oldman River
The City of Lethbridge is urging residents to keep their distance from the Oldman River.
In a statement Wednesday morning, the City said significant rainfall has, again, caused the river levels to rise quickly.
The latest reading provided has the river flowing at a rate of 900 cubic metres per second, which is even more than we saw in early June after late May’s big rainstorm.
“At this time, the river is extremely fast and dangerous and the banks are unstable,” the City warned.
