LPS and Circle K bring back popular Operation Freeze youth initiative

The Lethbridge Police Service and Circle K are bringing back a popular program that engages officers and youth in the community. 

Known as Operation Freeze, LPS Sergeant Steve Veale compares it to a positive ticketing campaign.

“If they (officers) notice anything good, anything positive behaviour. They notice youth demonstrating kindness, leadership, community spirit, safe practices, you know, enjoying the outdoors responsibly, they’re encouraged to stop these youth and give them these coupons for Frosters.”

Veale, who was also involved with another recent Summertime youth initiative, Kids ‘N’ Cops, adds it’s a great way to develop and strengthen the relationship between LPS officers and kids in the city.
