LPS kept busy with three separate assaults in less than 48 hours

Lethbridge Police Service are investigating three separate attacks over the course of less than 48 hours, two of which have now resulted in charges.

The first, a fight between two men, occurred on Friday evening at around 8:30 in Galt Gardens, and saw one of the males strike the other with a pipe.

The 44-year-old victim was taken to hospital, while a 47-year-old, John Atem Ayiel, is facing at least two counts of assault and resisting arrest.

He’s scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.

Saturday morning, about 11:30, a 33-year-old man was hit with a baton and bear sprayed when he refused to empty his pockets.

21-year-old Leland Jhon Eagle Speaker and 27-year-old Terrance Cooper Dayne Many Grey Horses, both from Lethbridge, are facing charges in the alleged incident.

The pair are due to appear before a judge today.

And, a person of interest has been identified in the assault of a woman in the 1000-block of 2A Avenue North very early Friday morning, at around 2:30.

The woman didn’t receive any medical attention until later in the morning when some bystanders noticed her injuries and flagged down an EMS crew.

LPS hasn’t released any details or description on the possible suspect in this case.
