Mayor updates community in Tuesday statement
Third party review to look into Lethbridge’s current integrated EMS structure

The latest development in ongoing efforts by the City of Lethbridge to keep its current integrated emergency services model appears to be a future third-party review.
Mayor Blaine Hyggen, in an open statement to the community Tuesday, said the City is encouraged by the latest news, believing it provides an opportunity to lobby for the benefits of what’s in place now.
It’s a turnaround, though, from what he felt last week after a discussion with Hospital and Surgical Health Services minister Adriana LaGrange, where it seemed nothing had changed.
The main goal of the City, in talks with Emergency Health Services, has been to look at ways of keeping down the cost of a new future contract and any proposed changes to the existing model.
