Occupant, two dogs safely rescued from Lakeview neighbourhood basement suite

An occupant and two dogs were safely rescued yesterday from a basement suite in the Lakeview neighbourhood of town Thursday afternoon. 

Crews were called to a residence in the 1100-block of Lakeview Drive South at around 2:15 to find smoke coming the lower level of the house.

15 firefighters from three stations were able to quickly contain the fire, and safely rescue the individual and their two pets.

LFES says the occupant was assessed and treated by EMS on scene, but didn’t need any further medical attention.
