Overdue hiker in Waterton Lakes National Park found deceased
Alberta RCMP are sending their condolences to the family and friends of an overdue B.C. hiker found deceased in Waterton Lakes National Park.
On July 23, 2026, Pincher Creek RCMP received a report of an overdue hiker in the Waterton Lakes National Park.
Mounties say an 81-year-old male resident of Golden, British Columbia, had departed Waterton Lakes National Park on the Alderson Carthew Summit Trailhead on Thursday July 16, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.
Police say he set out to hike the Great Divide Trail and was expected to arrive in Coleman, Alta., on July 22, 2026. RCMP say the male did not arrive in Coleman, and his family reported him missing.
