City Hall, several services for City of Lethbridge shut down Monday for Heritage Day

Aug 1, 2026 | 6:18 PM

With Monday being Heritage Day, most local, provincial, and federal government offices and the services they provide will either be shut down or curtailed.

In the case of the City of Lethbridge, both City Hall and the Waste & Recycling Centre will be closed.

Also taking the day off will be a live person at the other end of the City’s 3-1-1 service, however, Breezy, the informative chat bot, will be on duty.

There will also be no curbside recycling, garbage pick-up or animal control services, although for emergencies you can call 403-320-4099.

Both branches of the Lethbridge Public Libary will be closed to the public.

Access-A-Ride won’t be available on Monday, however, transit service will run on a Sunday schedule.

Facilities, though, that will be open include Fort Whoop-Up and the Helen Schuler Nature Centre, both operating between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.; Galt Museum is otherwise closed on Mondays.

Detailed information and links are posted on the City’s website, Lethbridge.ca.
