Southern Alberta Art Gallery to undergo close to $8M in renovations

The City of Lethbridge, Province of Alberta, and Government of Canada are behind an almost $8 million renovation of the Southern Alberta Art Gallery.

Management at the gallery say the improvements will provide more entrances and a barrier-free lower level in the former Library building. 

Upgrades will also include a park-side entrance and patio that opens onto Galt Gardens, a food services area, and something it’s calling a ‘Listening Garden’ – an outdoor space for relaxation and reflection.

During the renos, SAAG will operate in three different locations around town: on 3rd Avenue South, Mayor Magrath Drive, and the Trade & Convention Centre.
