Alberta Health Services warns of elevated bacteria in river at Writing-on-Stone beach

A water quality advisory has been issued for the beach at Writing-on-Stone Provincial Park after elevated levels of bacteria were found by Alberta Health Services.

Anyone who swims or wades into the river, including pets, run the risk of skin, ear, or eye infections and gastrointestinal issues like vomiting and diarrhea.

As always, AHS warns to never use untreated water for cooking or cleaning, even when the advisory is lifted, at some point.

The warning remains in place until further notice.
