Province to offer more supports for gambling addictions after opening up online gaming

Alberta’s government is looking to add new services and supports for gambling addiction following the recent launch of its regulated online gaming market. 

The province, in a request for expressions of interest, says it’s looking to fund services in addition to what’s available through Recovery Alberta.

The Ministry of Mental Health and Addictions said in a statement the new programs will be paid for through incoming government revenue. 

It added nobody should have to struggle with addiction alone, including gambling-related addiction.
