Picture Butte holds centennial celebration as part of annual Jamboree Days event

The Town of Picture Butte celebrated its 100th birthday this past Friday and Saturday as part of its annual Jamboree Days event.
Mayor Cathy Moore labels the centennial commemoration this year as an ‘all around success.’
“We couldn’t have asked for a better day. We had people, thousands of people. The town was hopping. I think all of the stores were busy. We had 1600 for our (pancake) breakfast this morning. We had a record amount of floats (near 70) in the parade.”
One of the highlights of this year’s event, which isn’t normally part of Jamboree Days, was a 100-year heritage display at the Community Centre, which was also well-attended.
