Close to 2,000 children and youth to benefit from new Sport Bank program

The Lethbridge Sport Council’s new Sport Bank program is up and running after a grand opening ceremony earlier in the week.
Based on previous data, executive Director Susan Eymann believes there is a demand for any and all of the donated used sports equipment.
“We know there about 2,000 children and youth who receive financial subsidies for registration in Lethbridge, so that’s the number we’re working off from the City of Lethbridge assistance program and KidSport and previously Jump Start.”
While hockey gear leads the list in demand, Eymann say there’s also a need for baseball and golf equipment, as well, based on sports enrollment.
