$100K donation pushes campaign fundraising total over $32 million

A southern Alberta couple is being recognized for their generous contribution to the Chinook Hospital Foundation’s Bringing Hearts Home fundraiser. 

Ian McGillivray and Renee Pahara recently donated just over $100,400 through the transfer of securities acquisitions. 

Ian saying they chose to make their gift because it allowed them to support a cause that was deeply important to them. 

Gifts of publicly traded securities, the foundation added, can be an effective and tax-efficient way for Canadians to support registered charities.
