Following a fire early Wednesday morning, the City of Lethbridge has decided to close the outside westbound lane at the west end of the Whoop-Up Drive bridge, as a safety precaution.
The City is reassuring motorists the closure is a precautionary measure, but engineers, it says, have determined the bridge to be safe.
The lane closure, though, will allow for a full assessment of the bridge to be completed.
The speed limit remains at 70 km/h.
