Repairs to the Kipp Bridge finally set to begin Tuesday

Work on the Kipp Bridge northwest of Coalhurst will finally get going on Tuesday, after an almost one month delay, partly due to weather.

Lethbridge County says the span over the CPKC rail line requires maintenance work to extend its lifecycle and will include repairing bridge expansion joints, deck sealing, repairing and/or replacing deck joints, straightening structural members, and painting.

The road will stay open throughout construction but reduced to a single lane with traffic control in place.

Lanes, though, will be fully re-opened at night.
