Regional hospital foundation’s Truck Lottery winner announced

The Chinook Regional Hospital Foundation has revealed the winner of its annual Chinook Truck Lottery. 

This year’s winner, Joan Van Waardhuizen drover her in a brand-new 2026 Toyota Tundra 4×4, valued at $80,000, last week.

Even more important, the foundation says it was able raise $30,000 more in ticket sales this year versus last. 

CEO Crystal Elliott says the money will directly enhance patient care and make a lasting difference for families across southern Alberta. 

Joan admits she didn’t actually buy the ticket to win the truck, saying she felt purchasing the ticket was her way of giving back to the foundation.
