While many of us remember where we were when the 9/11 terrorist attacks happened, for one Lethbridge woman, the day hit too close home.
Community advocate Chelsey Peat was 16, at the time, and was flying to the U.S. for a medical procedure when things escalated quickly.
“I was on my way to Boston when the first plane hit and I ended up in Logan International about 20 minutes to half-an-hour before that second plane took off, so I was possibly walking around with people (that were on that flight), Peat described.
“It was a week of H-E double hockey sticks (he–) for me and my Mom because we got there and we thought the world was ending. We figured everything was blowing up.”
