Football Alberta releases Week 2 high school rankings

It was a low-scoring affair at U of L’s Community Stadium Friday night with the 3rd-ranked Raymond Comets edging out the LCI Rams 7-6.

The Comets’ win keeps them in the number 3 spot on the Division 5A Top 10 list after Week 2.

Lethbridge Collegiate, with the loss, drops from 4th to 6th place.

Raymond, meantime, has Week 3 off, while the Rams are on the road to take on the Medicine Hat Hawks.

Other high school football action:

Catholic Central from Lethbridge moved up from 5th to 4th in the 4A Division Top 10, beating Medicine Hat’s Monsignor McCoy 25-6.

The Cougars are on the road in Okotoks to play Foothills Composite Falcons later in the week.

Still in the 4A…Cardston Secondary slipped from 9th to 10th in the Top 10 rankings, but only because they didn’t play last week.

The Cougars travel to the Bridge City to take on the Chinook Coyotes this week.

In the 3A Division…Taber’s W.R. Meyers moved up from #5 to #4 in the rankings after a 36-27 decision over Chinook.

They take on McCoy in Week 3 action.

9-a-side play saw Carstairs beat Pincher Creek 47-9 and Willow Creek get by Coaldale 8-6.

Play this week includes Willow Creek home to Innisfail on Friday and Coaldale visiting Carstairs on Saturday.
