Annual Citizen Walk About Friday, beginning from City Hall at 10 a.m.
16 years and counting for the annual Citizen Walk About, put on this year by Inclusion Lethbridge and the South Region Self-Advocacy Network.
While many of us will know what the definition of inclusion is, SRSAN’s Chelsey Peat was asked if she could describe what self-advocacy is.
“Self-advocacy is knowing when to stand up for yourself,” Peat starts.
“It’s knowing your voice, having a voice, and knowing your rights and being able to know when the world is not treating you fairly and to be comfortable enough, even if you’re with a peer or group, be able to speak out and speak up for change.”
