New clinical trial to take place at Lethbridge-based Jack Ady Cancer Centre
The Jack Ady Cancer Centre in Lethbridge will be part of a clinical trial that will look into the reduction of radiation treatments for some patients.
The new technique, being done on clients with prostate cancer, if successful, could drop the actual number of visits down significantly.
Ryan Kelly, with the Alberta Cancer Foundation, admits studies, like these, are usually done in big cities like Calgary or Edmonton.
“This really aligns with our vision to bring clinical trials out to more patients where they live,” said Kelly following the announcement Wednesday.
