Taber Community Centre renamed Inter Pipeline Community Centre under 10-year naming deal

“It means a great deal to see a company with a strong presence in our community choose to invest back into the places our residents use every day,” Prokop said.

The Community Centre has been part of Taber’s recreation and community life for more than five decades, including the 56-year-old arena, the 35-year-old Aquafun Centre and other recreation and gathering spaces.

The facilities host swimming, skating, sports, events and community gatherings throughout the year.

Inter Pipeline President and CEO Paul Hawksworth said the company’s assets have been part of the community since the 1960s.

“We’re proud to build on that connection through this long-term partnership with the Town of Taber,” Hawksworth said.

The Town made naming rights and sponsorship opportunities available through an Expression of Interest process, allowing businesses and organizations to submit proposals for the Community Centre and select spaces and amenities.

Inter Pipeline secured the naming rights for the overall facility, while separate naming and sponsorship opportunities remain available for select interior spaces.

Residents will begin seeing the new name and Inter Pipeline branding introduced at the facility as the partnership rolls out.

New signage and updates to Town materials, websites and other facility references will follow.
