Taber Police confirm posted bear sighting video was from Crowsnest Pass, not Taber

The Taber Police Service is apologizing for a Facebook post last week that reported a ‘bear sighting’ in the community. 

In a follow-up post, TPS confirms the home surveillance video seen online was from Crowsnest Pass and not Taber. 

The original post had said the animal was spotted in the 6100-block of 55th Street, but police now admit that was not the case. 

The error aside, Taber Police are still asking residents to contact them at 403-223-8991, should they ever see a bear within the town’s boundaries.
