Lethbridge Polytechnic has once again partnered with the University of Lethbridge and the Regional Innovation Network of South Alberta to host the seventh annual InnoFusion Conference today, Oct. 2, 2026.

Taking place at the Cave at Lethbridge Polytechnic, the theme for this year’s event is, “The AI Shift: How the Future Workforce and Employers Can Thrive Together,” and it will explore how AI is reshaping work for employers, employees, and communities.

RWI Synthetics founder and CEO Myrna Bittner will serve as the keynote speaker, discussing how RWI used AI to model disaster responses, population planning, and more.

“AI is already changing what can be accomplished, and that’s reshaping the future workforce our students are preparing to enter,” says Josh Leith, AgENT program co-ordinator, Centre for Applied Research, Innovation and Entrepreneurship. “Our keynote speaker, Myrna, is a great example in using AI for geo-mapping to help communities plan ahead. That’s the kind of thinking we want students and industry partners exploring together at InnoFusion.”

“As AI continues to change the labour and employment market, it’s important for students to be aware of what they can do to prepare themselves for life after graduation,” says Luc Roberts, program director at ULethbridge’s Agility. “Networking with industry and hearing directly from employers as to what they are looking for from new hires, is a valuable opportunity.”

The seventh annual InnoFusion conference is happening at the Cate from 11:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
