Lethbridge teen charged following reported weapons incident Tuesday near city schools
Police in Lethbridge have charged a teen with Possession of a Weapon following an incident that led to yesterday’s lockdown of four schools.
LPS say they responded to a report of a group of males in the 300 block of 18 Street South, including one who appeared to be carrying a handgun.
Through CCTV footage and witness information, officers were able to identify and locate the teens, who were taken into custody without incident.
Police determined that the 16-year-old had a black, handgun-style water pistol in his possession, but nothing else after a search of his school locker.
