Hurricanes trade Koen Cleaver to Saskatoon for 2029 prospect

The Lethbridge Hurricanes have traded goaltender Koen Cleaver to the Saskatoon Blades and will receive a ninth-round draft pick in the WHL’s 2029 Prospect Draft in return.

The 19-year-old from Port Alberni, BC was selected by the Canes in the third-round of the 2022 WHL Draft.

He appeared in six games in this season, posting a save percentage of .871 and earning two wins in the five games he played.

Cleaver was named the 2025-2026 Hurricanes Three Star Award winner and the Rookie of the Year Award recipient in 2024-2025.
