Lethbridge Polytechnic awarded $3-million-plus by Ottawa for agri-training programs

Oct 26, 2026 | 1:05 PM

The federal government has announced more than $3 million for new trades programs at Lethbridge Polytechnic to grow the agri-food sector.

It says the money will help the post-secondary institution launch new training that will address the shortage in skilled labour in the ag industry.

Prairies Economic Development minister Eleanor  Olszewski says her government is focused on what it can control.

That, she said in a statement, includes building a stronger, more independent, more resilient Canadian economy and stronger, more affordable food system.
