Galt Museum grows Indigenous, Blackfoot history display space

Oct 27, 2026 | 12:46 PM

The Galt Museum in Lethbridge has expanded its display of Blackfoot culture with a permanent display space in the main floor hallway.

Billed ‘From the Collection,’ it highlights some of the over 17,000 Indigenous artifacts the museum has in its possession.

Each object also, brings with it, a story from the Blackfoot People, settlers, and newcomers that came to the region.

With limited space, however, museum curator Tyler Stewart says the artifacts on display will be rotated every six months, or so, to give it a refreshed look.
