Snowfall warnings up for section of southwestern Alberta

Environment & Climate Change Canada has issued a Yellow Alert for up to 20 centimetres of snow for southwest Alberta, with lesser amounts, up to 10 centimetres, away from the mountains, in places like Pincher Creek and Brocket.

A weather statement Wednesday afternoon said snow will begin Wednesday evening and taper off by Thursday morning.

“Roads and walkways will likely be difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. Visibility will likely be reduced at times. Allow extra time for travel,” said the statement.

The system, which is coming from the north, is expected to provide limited mixed rain and snow to the Lethbridge region, however, temperatures expected to rebound on Saturday.
