First-term councillor reflects on first year in office

A former newspaper editor at the Herald, Al Beeber has just completed his first year in the role of Lethbridge city councillor.

He’s says the first 12 months have been enjoyable, but also challenging, at times.

“I do my research before I make a vote. I try and make the best decision that I can for the best of the community,” says Beeber.

“Sometimes those decisions are going to not be appreciated. There are going to be people that are going to be opposed to them, but I know what I was elected to do. I came in here as a non-partisan person. Open-minded. Do the best job I can with all the information available.”
