Transfer stations operating hours standardized to reflect permanent time shift

Oct 29, 2026 | 6:52 AM

Beginning next week, transfer stations operated by the Lethbridge Regional Waste Management Services Commission will be adjusting its hours.

“We reviewed our hours and what that would look like because historically we had Winter hours and regular hours,” says Lethbridge County director of operations Ryan Thomson when asked to explain the new permanent schedule and the rationale behind it.

“In looking at that, we thought it was most appreciate to standardize our hours year-round. So, that’s we’re landed on the 9 to 5 for all the days the transfer sites are open.”

The days each transfer station was, and will be open in the future, though, won’t change, adds Thomson.

It’s still Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday for Coaldale and Picture Butte and Thursday, Friday, and Saturdays for the Iron Springs and Nobleford (NOBEL-furd) stations.
