Fallen soldiers remembered, honoured in yearly tribute in cleaning of veterans’ headstones

It’s an annual tradition that’s carried out across the country every year ahead of Remembrance Day  – the cleaning of memorial headstones of the fallen.

On Friday morning, close to two dozen members of the 20th Independent Field Battalion from Lethbridge were on hand at the Mountain View cemetery.

Honourary Lieutenant-Colonel Dory Rossiter spoke on behalf of the battery.

“It’s an honour to actually clean all of these headstones and we really need to instill in the public how important it is to support our veterans currently and the ones in the future, but remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice and those that have passed away.
