AJHL & other organizations comment on sexual exploitation investigation
The Alberta Junior Hockey League released a statement on Monday, Nov. 2, regarding the arrest of a prominent junior hockey figure, Tyler King.
“The Alberta Junior Hockey League is extremely grateful to the RCMP for their diligence in this investigation over the past two years. The dignity, privacy, and well-being of those impacted is our foremost concern at this time. Anyone with more information is urged to contact the RCMP directly.”
At this time, the statement is the AJHL’s only comment on the ongoing investigation; while a junior hockey team in British Columbia says it wasn’t aware that an executive they hired in 2024 was facing sexual exploitation allegations from another team in the same league.
In a statement Tuesday, Nov 3, the Nanaimo Clippers said Tyler King was hired as the club’s vice-president of business operations in the summer of that year and left months later, before the hockey season started.
