Friends of Medicare alleges UCP government is finding way to charge Albertans more

The group, Friends of Medicare, is alleging the ruling UCP government is finding ways, at every turn, to charge Albertans more for standard health care.

It says Bill 39, a 144-page document tabled Wednesday in the Legislature, is the fourth sweeping Health Statutes Amendment Act.

Executive director Chris Galloway says the government continues to use a wrecking-ball approach when it comes to public health care.

Based on conversations, Gallaway says he’s being told by patients, families, and health care workers, that the system has never been more chaotic.
