220 solar panels installed on roof of Lethbridge County Administration Building

LETHBRIDGE – The Lethbridge County Administrative Building, located across from City Hall on 4 Ave. S and Stafford Drive, is now able to produce its own power.
 
According to a news release from the County, 220 solar panels were installed on the east, west and south-facing slopes of the roof of the building.
 
ENMAX Generation Portfolio subcontracted a local company called SolarWind Renewable Energy to install the panels, capable of producing nearly 100,000 kWh of energy each year.
 
Total cost of the project was $156,403.51. Twenty-five per cent of the project was funded through the Municipal Climate Change Action Centre (MCCAC). Another grant from Energy Efficiency Alberta contributed just over $2,200.
