Police arrest two as they investigate a gunshot and explosive detonation

LETHBRIDGE ––  Police responded to a complaint around 1:00 Saturday (june2) morning, which involved a gunshot in the area of 9 Avenue and 17 Street South.  Officers located a small explosive device that had been detonated in an alley in the area. 

There were no injuries or damage to property and two men were taken into custody.  

Around the noon hour on Saturday, police continued their investigation at a residence in the 800 block of 16 Street south, asking the public to stay clear of the area. Officers wrapped up their search of the residence around 6:00-pm.   

The investigation continues and further information will be released when it is concluded.
