Calen Addison among first cuts at Team Canada’s World Junior camp
VICTORIA – The first round of cuts have started for Team Canada’s World Junior Hockey Team, and Lethbridge Hurricanes defenceman Calen Addison is among them.
Team Canada cut Addison, along with fellow defencemen Cameron Crotty and forwards Raphael Lavoie and Ty Dellandrea after their 5-3 exhibition loss to the U Sports all-stars on Thursday, Dec. 13.
Addison, 18, has recorded 31 points (4G, 27A) this season with the Hurricanes. The 2018 second-round pick of the Pittsburgh Penguins is eligible to play for Canada in 2020.
Speaking after the decision, Addison lamented it’s a tough one to swallow.
