BROCKET – Two Brocket residents have been arrested after RCMP seized 96 grams of cocaine over the weekend.

On Saturday (Feb. 25), a vehicle was pulled over after Piikani RCMP noticed the passenger was breaching his curfew conditions. Officers arrested both the driver and passenger, and found a significant amount of cocaine and proceeds of crime.

Donovan Jackson, 31, is charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, resisting arrest, possession of property obtained by crime and failing to comply with conditions of a recognizance. He’s since been released on bail.

Cecilia Big-Bull, 34, is also charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, and was later released from custody.

Both are scheduled to appear in Pincher Creek Provincial Court on March 14.

“We know the damage these drugs cause for families and I am glad we were able to stop this cocaine from making its way to into the community. It’s only with the support of Piikani First Nation members that we have success with these types of investigations and seizures,” noted Sgt. Ray Starzynski, Piikani RCMP commander.

An investigation is on-going. Anyone with information regarding this seizure is encouraged to contact Piikani RCMP at 403-965-2001.
