LETHBRIDGE – Due to the warmer than usual temperatures in Lethbridge and around Southern Alberta, people looking to cool off with a dip at Henderson Pool won’t have to wait much longer.

The facility will open its doors on Monday, June 4, with modified hours. School group bookings will be available during the day, and the open swims will be between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. on weekdays and 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Beginning on June 29, regular summer hours will begin, with the pool open to the public between 12 p.m. and 8 p.m. seven days per week until Sept. 3.

On statutory holidays, the pool will be open from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.

A release from the city states Henderson Pool has proven to be a popular summer stop for residents thanks to waterslides, a climbing wall, diving board, drop slide and the Rotary Spray Park.

It’s also fully accessible for the community by offering a zero-depth entry pool, accessible change rooms, and the ENMAX Centre provides an on-site concession for visitors inside the pool facility as well.

The facility had a record year in 2017 welcoming 86,813 visitors, up from 30,279 in 2013, when it last operated for a full season.

When the pool re-opened in 2016, 58,229 people came out to experience the new and improved pool during a shortened first season.
