Hurricanes season on the brink after dropping 6-5 decision to Hitmen in Game 5
LETHBRIDGE, AB – For the first time since the spring of 2018, the Lethbridge Hurricanes season is on the line.
The Hurricanes were defeated 6-5 in Game 5 of their opening round series against the Calgary Hitmen at the Nicholas Sheran Arena on Saturday, Mar. 30, in one of the wildest games so far in the Western Hockey League Playoffs.
The 1st period started quick with both teams getting their legs underneath them, but at 6:16 Jake Elmer was called for roughing, and the Hitmen powerplay went to work.
Luke Coleman found a loose puck in front after a point shot by Vladislav Yeryomenkoand and banged it home to make it 1-0 for Calgary.
