$100,000 gift from the Matteottis will support Kodiaks Athletics student-athletes
LETHBRIDGE – Lethbridge College Kodiaks Athletics received a game-changing $100,000 gift from long-time booster Flora Matteotti, on behalf of her late husband Val and herself, on Tuesday, Dec. 11.
The announcement took place just steps away from the entrance to the Val Matteotti Gymnasium – the home court for Kodiaks Athletics – as the Matteottis continued a long tradition of supporting the Kodiaks and the college.
Kodiaks Athletics manager Todd Caughlin says it’s tough to explain just how much of an impact this gift will have on the Kodiaks.
“We pride ourselves on building our programs around athletes who fit our three pillars of academic accountability, athletic excellence and community involvement, and those are values Flora and Val have always championed,” he continued. “This gift will help us to support more student-athletes than ever before as they pursue their educational and athletic goals.”
