May 27, 2018 | 9:47 AM

LETHBRIDGE – It’s that time of year. The 2018 Property Tax Notices were mailed to property owners in Lethbridge on Thursday, May 24.

Anyone who doesn’t receive a 2018 Tax Notice by May 31 is encouraged to log into MyCity and register their property using the roll number and access code located on their Assessment Notice sent out by the city on Jan. 5.

Once registered, property owners will be able to reprint their tax notices.

Help with registration is available by contacting the Assessment and Taxation office at 403-320-3950, or at tax@lethbridge.ca.

Taxes are due by June 29 to avoid late payment penalties, and payment can be mailed by cheque or money order to the City of Lethbridge.

The City of Lethbridge doesn’t accept credit card payments, but tax-payers may refer to the back of their tax notices for information on how to use a third-party credit card service provider to make payment for a fee.

A release from the city also states property owners have the option of the Tax Instalment Prepayment Plan, which can reduce their tax bill with a 1.25% annual discount credit.
