Dog shot and killed during home invasion
LETHBRIDGE – A pet dog is dead following a home invasion and shooting in north Lethbridge.
Police say two unknown men wearing balaclavas entered a home Monday, Nov. 28 at approximately 12:40 p.m. The male and female occupants of the home told police the assailants pointed a gun at them and demanded money. One of two large dogs became aggressive, and was shot.
The suspects fled after a struggle with the male occupant of the home. The injured dog died at an emergency vet clinic.
Police say it was not a random crime, but drug-related and targeted.
