GATINEAU, Que. — A Canadian soldier has pleaded guilty to a charge in a case involving a sexual misconduct allegation.

A statement from the military says the National Defence Act charge against master warrant officer Alan Chapman related to an act of sexual misconduct against a female member of the military in Cyprus in 2010.

Chapman pleaded guilty to a charge of behaving in a disgraceful manner when he appeared Monday at a court martial in Gatineau, Que.

A military judge ordered Chapman be fined $2500 and have his rank reduced to that of warrant officer.
