BLOOD RESERVE – Blood Tribe Police are investigating what appears to have been a home invasion, that left a 28-year old man with life threatening injuries.

They responded to a rural residence around 8:35 Sunday night, after it was reported that several people forced their way into a home on the Blood Indian Reserve and attacked a man and woman inside.

The male victim was found in the residence, suffering severe head injuries from being assaulted with a weapon. He was transported by ground ambulance to the Cardston Hospital and on to the Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge, at which point STARS airlifted him to Calgary Foothills Hospital for emergency surgery. The victim remains there in critical condition.

Meanwhile, the female victim was treated at the scene for her injuries.
