Bulls begin playoffs with seventh straight loss

MEDICINE HAT – The Lethbridge Bulls began the 2018 WMBL playoffs with their seventh loss in a row, a 5-2 decision against the Medicine Hat Mavericks Tuesday, July 31.
Both Lethbridge runs were from solo home runs, scored by Jesse Hilyard and Dustin Braun. The Bulls managed seven hits over six innings against winning pitcher Alex Dafoe but were held hitless by the Mavericks bullpen. Lethbridge stranded eight base runners.
Bulls starter Andrew Grieder was tagged with the loss, giving up three runs on four hits over four innings and one strikeout.
Lethbridge has yet to defeat Medicine Hat this year. The Mavericks lead the best-of-five series one game to none, with game two set for Wednesday, Aug. 1, 7:05 p.m. in Medicine Hat.
